Fortunately, Roofrite has extensive experience managing complex residential projects with restricted access and working safely around powerlines.
For this beautiful double-storey Victorian home in Richmond, our scope included:
Before we could even start on site, we obtained the necessary Council Permit to operate a boom lift on the footpath and a No-Go Zone Permit from the power supplier to ensure safe work near power lines. An electrical spotter was on hand while working in the boomlift, as required under the NGZ Permit, to monitor safety at all times.
Comprehensive scaffolding was erected to provide safe access and fall protection for the crew. While safety equipment such as scaffolding, guardrails, and lifts can increase project costs, safety is never negotiable – because ensuring every team member goes home safely at the end of each day is our top priority.
Despite the many challenges that come with working on inner-city properties, projects like this Richmond Victorian remind us why we love what we do. Every logistical hurdle – from permits and powerlines to tight spaces – is worth it when the end result is a beautifully restored, watertight roof that protects and enhances a piece of Melbourne’s heritage. It’s a testament to the skill, planning, and care that Roofrite brings to every job, no matter how complex the access or conditions.
